We are extremely pleased & proud to announce that. Mother & Nature has been
selected as the Virgin Start-Up Ambassador for the North-West of England.
This means we will be promoting Virgin Start-up by hosting events throughout the year. So if I get the time writing posts and blogs, which me luck.
So you may be wondering what we get out of it. Well we got invited to Richard Branson’s house and got to meet the man himself! Furthermore I get to talk to everyone about my maternity waterproof coat.
The Virgin Ambassador
On Wednesday 29th June we attended a function at the Branson residence for the chosen Virgin Start-Up Ambassador’s. Here we received a fantastic marketing and branding session delivered by The Champion Agency. The only agency which also works as a social enterprise. We also got a Q&A session with Richard Branson, which was so interesting. However I know it sounds cliche, but he really is a truly inspirational person. He was even nice enough to let me have my picture taken with him!
The day was absolutely fantastic, I can not thank Virgin Start-up enough for giving me this opportunity. Furthermore I am looking forward to organising events in the North-West and writing about my experiences of starting a business. I’m hoping this will inspire a new wave of entrepreneurs in the North, and any help and advice I can offer I will be glad to do so.
If you are in the this area and are interested in attending an event. Athough no dates have been set yet, then please contact me for further details samantha@motherandnature.co.uk
Workshop in the morning, taking in some fantastic branding advice from The Champion Agency. He really challenged us on our product and customer offerings.
And what a fantastic lunch, with a very creative and beautifully presented desert…
would you expect anything else from Sir Branson!
We are so proud to say that we made it to the semi-final of the Voom Start-up Competition run by Virgin.
Also a bit upset not to make it to the final, but the competition was so tough and there really were some great companies in the final 20.
I also want to say that I’m really proud to have got to the semi-final of 20. There were over 5,000 entries into the competition, so to make it through to the final 20 is an incredible achievement!
It was also fantastic being part of the world record breaking Pitchathon, that lasted almost 29hours, and was verified by Guiness World Book of Records!
Good luck to the finalists,m they’ll be pitching to Richard Branson, Tyra Banks, Sara Blakely, Marcus Butler & Peter Kelly on the 28th June, so all the best to those guys!
