The fantastic; Review
Close Enough to Kiss. The baby wearing experts, have recently reviewed the Mother & Nature waterproof maternity jacket.
Find out their thoughts below;
There hasn’t been much on the market to accommodate a growing bump for those of you who spend a good amount of time outdoors. Outdoor maternity wear is very poorly covered. Normal maternity wear just doesn’t cater for mums who like to be out in the open air and explore. Mostly style over substance or genuine thought for use that maternity clothes go through with active mums to be. Both exercise and fresh air are good for us and our mental health, whether or not we are expecting a baby. So, it was surprising that this area was lacking. Perhaps due to our increasingly sedentary lifestyles?
Mother and nature is a new clothing brand, founded by Samantha Jenkins and supported by the new virgin start-up fund. Samantha has seen a gap in the maternity wear market and filled it.
The Mother And Nature Brand
Currently, mother and nature have a range of waterproof coat, walking trousers and maternity fleeces. Each specifically designed for active mum’s to be. That can be used during and after pregnancy, thanks to its internal and external expansion system. Each item is made to accommodate a growing bump but also has the advantage of being able to be used after birth. One coat does from pre-pregnancy throughout to term of a pregnancy and then back to original pre-pregnancy size. An amazing content and original in its creation and design.
Our amazing mum-to-be panellist, Emma is 5 months pregnant with baby number 2 and is an active outdoors person, who pre-pregnancy could be found on the football field with a local women’s football team. Emma loves dog walking and being outdoors.
Cold Winter Days
The Mother and Nature maternity raisin jacket is perfect for cold winter days
The waterproof maternity jacket has both internal and external unique side panel features. This enables the jacket to be sized throughout pregnancy. With discreet side zips, the coat looks like a normal outdoors waterproof when in post-pregnancy position. There is a pull coat at the bottom to keep in heat and avoid any drafts up through the coat keeping both mum and baby snug and cosy. The other jacket has sealed seams and a thick outer shell making it completely water and windproof. Just what you need for cold wet outdoor pursuits.
The other material is breathable and with a mesh lining, it allows free flow of air keeping you cool and dry. The hood tucks neatly away when not in use and is easily accessible when needed, it has a drawstring, so it can be pulled tightly in colder wet weather and a handy Velcro fastening to bee it secure. The sleeves also benefit from Velcro fastening. The jacket comes in 3 attractive colours with size options from 10 to 16.
The maternity coat retails at £95 which in comparison to other maternity coats is extremely reasonable, especially given it will last long after baby has been born.
We will be updating this review once Emma’s baby is born to see how compatible the coat is with wearing a newborn baby. So, watch this space.
